ArtLifting is committed to breaking down barriers in the art market by connecting artists who are impacted by disabilities or housing insecurity with companies and individuals seeking socially responsible artwork. As we observe National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) this October, it's an ideal time to reflect on the importance of creating opportunities for people with disabilities. When you incorporate ArtLifting pieces into your designs, you’re doing more than improving acoustics—you’re providing openings for these artists to showcase their talents and make a living from their work. By choosing acoustic panels featuring ArtLifting artists, you help clients directly contribute to this cause — fostering dignity, empowerment, and visibility for talented individuals who might otherwise face barriers to success.

Acoustic Design Meets Aesthetic and Social Values

Impressive acoustic design doesn’t just reduce noise — it’s an integral part of a space's aesthetic and cultural identity. Kirei Ink, in collaboration with ArtLifting, offers acoustic panels that serve multiple purposes: they absorb sound, beautify a space, and communicate your clients' values. The artwork showcased on these panels welcomes people from all walks of life into spaces that champion inclusivity and creativity, while offering clients a tangible way to support Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

CHARLIE FRENCH

Charlie French, an abstract artist, approaches his creative practice with a deep sense of joy and purpose. Painting daily is not only a therapeutic ritual for him but also a way to bring beauty and calm into the world. “It feels good. I like it when people buy my art. It is my job. I love it. I am proud to be an artist,” he says, reflecting on the pride he feels in his work. His art provides him with financial independence — “I can pay rent on my ART studio. I can buy supplies. Thank you!!!” — and more importantly, a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment.

BARBARA BARNETT

Barbara Barnett’s art journey is deeply rooted in her experiences as a US Army veteran. Her work transitions from figural portraits that explore her PTSD and MST experiences to abstract compositions inspired by her love for architecture. Barbara’s paintings often feature green hues and circular motifs, symbolizing healing and growth. One of her proudest moments came when her piece, "Gratitude Flag," was accepted into the National POW/MIA Memorial and Museum. She says, “Every time a client purchases a reproduction, it awakens me to gratitude,” underscoring how her art fosters connections with others while offering her personal healing.

ALLEN CHAMBERLAND

Despite facing physical disabilities that limited his career opportunities, Allen Chamberland found a fulfilling creative outlet through intricate papercutting. His work, drawn from architectural images, is both meticulous and striking, crafted from a single sheet of black paper. Creating art helps him “keep busy and make people happy,” a simple yet profound motivation that drives him as his pieces find homes on walls across the country.

ADDISON BARKER

Born in Illinois, Addison Barker’s expressionist art is a reflection of her neurodivergent mind. Her abstract paintings, often created with acrylics and minimal materials, communicate emotions through simplicity and repetition. Addison works on multiple pieces simultaneously, channeling her experiences and supporting social justice issues. “Being neurodivergent comes with many obstacles, but I also know it is the very reason I would never give up on myself,” she says, proudly owning the challenges and triumphs that fuel her creative drive.

BENNY BLINDSPOTS

Benny Blindspots found new purpose through painting after losing his vision to a rare autoimmune condition. Despite chronic pain and blindness, Benny’s abstract, expressionist art serves as a powerful medium for him to transcend his suffering and express his emotions. His work not only supports his family but also deepens his connection with his faith. “Attaining attention from your company really affirms my work and is a great vote of confidence in the power of my work,” Benny says, highlighting how meaningful recognition is to his journey as an artist.
